We enjoyed our lovely stay at Villa Star of the Sea so much! The hotel is very beautiful with great views on the ocean with very friendly owners and staff! Villa Star is located directly at the very beautiful Playa del Coco which is a very pretty and peaceful area. After our stay we felt so relaxed and happy that we felt a little bit younger, so we definitely wish to come back to Villa Star very soon!

What an amazing place! I felt very welcomed. It was very peaceful and allowed for a wonderful relaxing time. The bedroom was large and looked onto the garden where I could watch the humming birds and other exotic birds. I took a bike out everyday to ride around the golf course. The breakfasts where fantastic and I also had several fantastic well presented delicious dinners, sitting overlooking the turquoise pool and listening to the waves, and the relaxing music. The pool is ionized so the water was very soft with no chlorine. Sitting at the beach bar having a beer and watching the dolphins go by was fantastic. I could go for an hour walk and see hardly anybody. The town of barra is close and the owners would drop me off and after I was finished a taxi was very cheap to return. If you want a relaxing place to sit and relax and be in touch with nature this is the place to go. The roof top deck has great star gazing. This was my first time in Mexico and it was so calm and relaxing I will definitely will be back. .

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing visit in this beautiful, quiet boutique hotel. Lovely infinity pool just steps from your room, fabulous food both on-site and at a restaurant a short walk down the road. Rural, authentic Mexico, which is what we were looking for. Endless beach to walk, pelicans to watch, and soft music played throughout the day. WiFi for staying connected with family. Very comfortable climate --warm and sunny, yet did not need to turn on the air conditioner.

Back again after my first delightful visit to this unique vacation retreat on the sparkling turquoise waters of the Pacific Mexican coast and it is as beautiful as ever. The brightly coloured villa overlooking the sea, where one can watch for whales from the infinity pool and be seranaded to sleep by the sound of the surf, is truly enchanting. In addition to a scrumptious breakfast, there's also the option of going beachside to the tapas bar and private tables with a vista of the waves and the endless beach. And staying for dinner is well worth it as the meals are healthy and varied and can be designed to your liking. Friendly Hosts Eileen and Jedd are are also knowledgeable about the area, should you wish to explore- the village of Barra Navidad is only a panga ride away. I found myself not wanting to stray very far, to watch the sunrise and spectacular sunsets from the villa, to enjoy a poolside massage, to walk along the long, long beach and to laze endlessly in the sun. Private, secluded and affordable..I'm one of the many guests who will be returning time and again.

A slice a heaven and a break away from the everyday. What a treat I had unwinding and relaxing at this peaceful oasis. To feel surrounded by the majesty of the sea and the salt air was invigorating and, at the same time, calming. The environment is both inclusive and reclusive...you can do what you want to fill your needs. In my case, the joy of reading books without interruption made me giddy! Taking the time to watch the sunset made me reflective and thankful. To have the moments at the shoreline watching the waves and the birds, simply took my breath away and helped to recalibrate. Thanks!

I am about to make my 3rd trip to the "Villa" and can't wait! Such a beautiful, private, peaceful spot on the beach, perfect if you want a quieter get away. Easy to take a cab into one of the quaint towns nearby for alternate dining, music and shopping! Although you don't need to leave because the bar & restaurant La Sirena Gordita located on the premises has amazing food and drinks at very reasonable prices! We stay in the 2 bedroom Royal Star Suite that we share with friends, but all the rooms are ocean view and you'll be amazed by the sound of the waves all night. Because there are 4 hotel suites on that side, you will never find it crowded around the pool and you'll see few people on your long walks on the beach. Most likely see whales or pelicans or some wildlife. I love that your hosts Jedd & Eileen run a turtle sanctuary as well! We always look forward to collecting eggs with Coco the turtle rescue dog and if we're lucky seeing some of those eggs hatch! I can't say enough about what a unique situation this boutique hotel offers! What are you waiting for?

Luxury and beach front access without the crowds! This tucked-away gem has everything I love about Mexico. Miles of beach, palm trees, tapas bar with cold drinks and yummy treats. The pool was just steps from my door. Imagine a gourmet meal prepared to my personal dietary needs served on the moonlit deck beside a beautiful cactus garden. Heaven!

Quiet, well-provisioned suites right on the beach. Includes a big, lovely pool, small bar with friendly bartender serving drinks, guacamole, other snacks. Hosts - Eileen and Jed - are very helpful, friendly, and full of suggestions. They helped arrange bikes, fishing, golf, massages, and taxis to the panga or directly into Barra de Navidad for dinner. The suites have everything you need to cook at home after a trip to a bodega. If you're nice, the hosts will invite you upstairs for dinner and wine on their rooftop.
